Many recent works have shown the interest and potentiality of white cells in inflammatory phenomena, with as a corollary, a preponderant action in the early stages of stimulation of osteoprogenitor cells. (Omar &Thomsen, Biomaterials 2012, KAWAZOE T. Cell Transplant. 2012 ) It was therefore normal to try to capture more monocytes in the PRF, in order to make it more active in the stimulation of bone grafts, but also to turn them to a more rapid transformation of Monocytes into macrophages in order to increase the bone stimulation effect.


The concept of PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) is based on the centrifugation of whole blood without anticoagulants. (J. Choukroun et al. 2001). At the end of centrifugation, a fibrin clot containing the majority of platelets and white blood cells is obtained. This fibrin clot, known as Platelet Riche Fibrin or PRF, will progressively release growth factors or cytokines at the site (VEGF, PDGF, TGF Beta, Thrombospondin).

The expected purpose of these growth factors is to accelerate the healing of soft tissue and bone. Numerous international publications are available demonstrating the efficacy of PRF in a wide range of indications: oral surgery (implants, bone grafts, periodontal surgery, extractions, etc.), orthopedic, aesthetic and dermatological surgery.

Today, PRF is recognized the world over, from Nice to New York, from Los Angeles to Shanghai, from Rangoon to Moscow, from Sao Paulo to Cape Town, from Santiago to Zagreb...

Its effectiveness has been definitively proven
