Many recent works have shown the interest and potentiality of white cells in inflammatory phenomena, with as a corollary, a preponderant action in the early stages of stimulation of osteoprogenitor cells. (Omar &Thomsen, Biomaterials 2012, KAWAZOE T. Cell Transplant. 2012 ) It was therefore normal to try to capture more monocytes in the PRF, in order to make it more active in the stimulation of bone grafts, but also to turn them to a more rapid transformation of Monocytes into macrophages in order to increase the bone stimulation effect.

The first results of our research, carried out at the Clarion Research Group Laboratory, Pennsylvania university (USA) and at Repair-Lab, Institute of Pathology, Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz (Germany) show a release of BMP-2 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein), BMP- 4 and BMP-7. This research also shows an increased release of VEGF. The specific tube that was developed as a result of our scientific research and certified as a DM is the A-PRF™ + tube. This tube is the only one authorized at this time. The conventional tubes used until now being tubes for biological analysis and now non-regulatory. The A-PRF™ + tube is now available in sterile unit packaging (since May 2013).

Numerous scientific studies are underway: the results will be published soon. But the presence of BMP in sufficient quantity, already ensures that A-PRF™ has a definite future, making available to practitioners a very powerful product for bone reconstruction and at a still affordable price.
