Dr. Lafrenière obtained his Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 2010 from Université Laval, where he was awarded the Canadian Academy of Periodontics prize. He completed a specialty in periodontics at Université Laval, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. At the same time, he completed a Master's degree in Dental Sciences, where he studied anxious patient behaviour during periodontal treatment. Since then, Dr. Lafrenière has been practicing in Quebec City, specializing in the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant disease, muco-gingival treatment and dental implant placement. For anxious patients, he offers intravenous conscious sedation to enhance comfort. In addition to sitting on the Board of Directors of the Société Dentaire de Québec, Dr. Lafrenière teaches at the graduate level of the Faculty of Dentistry at Université Laval. He is a member of several professional associations, including the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Because continuing education is important to him, Dr. Lafrenière gives several lectures a year to dentists and dental hygienists, and is an accredited lecturer for Straumann, ZimVie and BioHorizons Camlog.
